Indie Publisher Plans to Keep Bringing Its Games to Xbox Game Pass

One indie game publisher confirms that it has a significant number of upcoming games planned for Xbox Game Pass in the next 12 months.

Xbox Game Pass has gained its success off of a diverse range of games added to its library month to month. It's not just AAA games like Xbox's own first-party titles that have thrived, either. Indie games can reach a broad new audience that a traditional release may prevent. Publisher No More Robots, known for releases including Descenders, Not Tonight, Hypnospace Outlaw, and more, has found its partnership with Xbox to its liking. In fact, the next 12 months will prove No More Robots' most active on Xbox Game Pass.

In a series of posts shared on Twitter, No More Robots discussed its ongoing relationship with Xbox and plans for Xbox Game Pass looking toward the future. The first post, capturing just how close a relationship it is, No More Robots shared a photo of the publisher's team with Xbox boss Phil Spencer. Spencer apparently visited No More Robots headquarters in Manchester, UK, to talk to the team. There are also hints the talk revolved around the "future of video games" and Xbox Game Pass.

As intriguing as the first Twitter post is, the second is all the more promising. No More Robots says that it has a big year ahead of it and that Xbox Game Pass is going to play a major role in that. Specifically, No More Robots says that in the next 12 months it plans to release "more than half a dozen games" on Xbox Game Pass.

To be clear, No More Robots doesn't explicitly state that these will be new games. Even if it's all previously released games, or a mix of previously released titles and new, seven game additions to Xbox Game Pass from a single publisher is an impressive offering. For an indie publisher to manage that is significant, and shows just how much faith No More Robots has in the service.

No More Robots has released two games so far in 2022. Those games are Not Tonight 2 and TombStar, neither of which is on Xbox Game Pass. Two more games are tentatively planned for 2022, Spirittea and Fashion Police Squad. Hypnospace Outlaw fans will also be hoping Dreamsettler and Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengeance of the Slayer both fit into No More Robot's plan.

The announcement of No More Robots' plans for the next 12 months is as surprising as it is exciting. The confidence that No More Robots must feel in its plan to announce it publicly shows just what this deal must mean to the game publisher. Xbox likely appreciates the sentiment, too, as it seeks to bring even more indie games to Xbox Game Pass in the future.
